Hotel Fashionland’s guide to Remixing the Tuxedo

The Met Gala this year was all about the American Woman but it was the American men who also made a splash on the Red Carpet. This year many of the most stylish men remixed the traditional tuxedo and here are some of our most favorite selections. Follow the cues of these stylish men and you too can make a splash at your formal event.

Break the  rules. Hamish Bowles  used color in a very effective way. He wore a Pink Tux with Jeans and this style risk paid off! Hamish later remarked “It’s the first time I wore jeans since I was 19.”

The most elegant tux is not black at all, but midnight blue. Chris Pine apparently got that memo.

The white dinner jacket, as worn by Tom Ford is not a look everyone can pull off. It’s stylish, but you will stand out. Tom Ford can clearly handle all the attention this look affords him.

Experiment with the right accessories. Pharrell’s variation on vests and bow ties, works here!

Pick the designer that works best with your personality. Diddy’s modern take on the traditional Tux put’s a fresh spin on things. Confidence always wins on the red carpet!

Patrick Robinson.  If in doubt stick with tradition. You can never go wrong with a basic black tuxedo and a little personal flair(hair).
