Stella McCartney: Elegant, trendsetting, and classy!

March 9th, 2010 by HFL Staff

When your dad is a Beatle and Madonna is one of your best friends, getting an A-list front row up for your fashion show is hardly a tough call. And Stella McCartney got just that for her fall-winter 2010-2011 ready to wear collection when she showed it in Paris the other day. Naturally her dad Paul was there with his girlfriend Nancy Shevell. But they were also joined by Maria Shriver and daughter Christina Schwarzenegger, 18. The Georgetown University student (Maria went there, too) was collegiate chic in dark denim, a striped shirt and a cool black coat. Also in the front row were Francois Henri Pinault, Anna Wintour and Thandi Newton just to name a few.

Tom Ford: A Well Dressed Man

March 9th, 2010 by HFL Staff

The Oscars are about women.  Of course they are.  And for decades all that the world expected of men - even the famous ones - was to lurk like penguins in the background and stay out of the damn way.  On Sunday, something changed.  Of course there were the usual screwups, the try-too-hards, and the don’t-give-a-damns, but didn’t you find yourself… wanting one of those tuxedos?

It wasn’t just because Tom Ford was dominating on and behind the scenes of the red carpet.  It’s because, for one year at least, the men put it together a little better.  The best part?  They didn’t even look like they tried to.  - Esquire.com

“I’m still bummed that A Single Man wasn’t recognized during award season as much as it should have been.  But, that’s ok.” - Tom Ford 2010

Lil Wayne’s new adventure

March 9th, 2010 by HFL Staff

Lil Wayne turned himself in to authorities after multiple sentencing delays for a July 2007 gun-possession charge. A near riot broke out in front of the Manhattan Criminal Court Building when the superstar MC entered, escorted by police and his Cash Money crew.

Photographers aggressively angled to capture the last images of the rapper before he was formally sentenced to one year in prison. Dressed in black jeans, a black shirt and a gray jacket, Lil Wayne made his way in, before Judge Charles H. Solomon sentenced the rapper. The New Orleans native sat next to his lawyer, Stacey Richman, without addressing the court.

After Solomon reminded Wayne of his charges, the rapper firmly nodded that he understood. Police then handcuffed Lil Wayne and he stood up to be taken away. He paused momentarily before leaving and nodded to Cash Money execs Birdman and Slim, who were present in the courtroom. Just like that, Wayne was gone.  MTV.COM

Amber Rose’s DRAG Race

March 9th, 2010 by HFL Staff

Rupaul needs to watch his back. Amber Rose is flexing her fashion prerogatives and showing us her stylistic range is not only limited to video vixen bombshell chic. While we are all aware that Amber can assume a more masculine sensibility, it’s rare that she dresses this HARD before the cameras. But before we could label her “new trend” Rose quickly got fem for the Vanity Fair party and  managed to turn heads while Hollywood’s brightest was out in full force. Unfortunately for Amber her star power had limits without Kanye West anywhere in view.
