The first time I was exposed to this madness of jockeying for enough space to take a clean photo, one of the photographers pictured here took his 36x36x36 metal case and swung it at another photographers head, making contact.  The reason… his area was being challanged!   Before the show starts there’s little or no lighting and hundreds of guests rumbling toward their numbered seats.  Most of the prayers are that those gigantic video cameras are securely locked in place.

This photo doesn’t even show the real picture as missing are all the backstage photographers still fighting to claim their own marked spots.  One literally ends up with inches.  Testosterone, adrenalin, and nerves of steel plus an old-fashioned desire to be able to ”cut the mustard” with the best of them must be among the reasons for anyone to want to be a part of anything this claustrophobic!

Twice a year FOR TEN YEARS I’VE SAID TO MYSELF…. JUST ONE MO’ TIME!
