SLAM DUNKS

All Star Weekend is not just about BASKETBALL kids. Fashion, yes FASHION has taken center stage during All Star Weekend and they even have the “Magenta Carpet” for the most fashion  forward (and ass backward) of the LEAGUE to walk down. With the Oscars less than a few days away HFL is here to feed you fashion junkies the most colorful commentary or “play by play” in terms of the FASHION SLAM DUNKS and FOULS of the brightest stars of the NBA. Ready to play ball?

Slam Dunks. The UNTOUCHABLES. Three the HARD WAY (Bron Bron, D-Wade and Chris Bosh) The concept of modern court side sartorial style may have been pioneered by Michael Jordan, but after two decades LeBron James owns it now. But GAME recognizes GAME and Dwayne Wade and Chris Bosh also play to WIN. These three have set the  gold standard of style for the NBA and it’s all in the details kids.  From head to toe these men are EXCLUSIVELY done down to the lapel pins and pocket squares (get into it). These three are 40/40 on the style tip.

Dwane Wade and his son react as the Heat’s James Jones competes in the three-point contest.

This Charming Man: Amar’e Stoudemire.

If Lebron is the King of fashion in the NBA then the crowned Prince is Amar’e. Not only will Amar’e follow in Lebron’s footsteps by appearing in VOGUE Magazine his style choices have proven to be as sound as his choices on the court. Anna and Hamish Bowles (old friends) would definitely approve of this effortless look.

NUMBER 1 Stunner: Blake Griffin is everything a number one pick should be. He’s come in and immediately improved the LA Clippers and energized the franchise and he’s also keeping it tight on the STYLE front. Think about it? How many kids come FRESH in their Freshman year or the first time they step into the NBA or a new job? This kid is cool and confident and that makes anything he wears look good. Also winners never really LOSE now do they? (Below: Griffin holds the trophy after winning the slam dunk contest)

Kobe is always Above the RIM…..Robert FROST style.  Kobe could have EASILY worn a suit and taken some of the attention away from the Trinity of Miami. But like Robert Frost, Kobe took  the road less traveled and did not try to FLOSS too hard. He does not have to.  Like the true CHAMPION that he is the ultimate accessory was the MVP AWARD that he won during the All Star Game and that my friends has made all the difference.

(West All Star Bryant shows off his MVP trophy. The West beat the East 148-143.)
