March 20th, 2009 by Hotel Fashionland received Comments OffSlumdog Millionaire stars Rubina Ali and Azharrudin Ismail sashayed down the ramp for designer duo Ashima-Leena at the Wills India Fashion Week in New New Delhi this past thursday.
“The idea to use young ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ actors Azaruddin and Rubina Ali was an attempt to bridge the gap between the glamorous and the unglamorous, the rich and the poor,” fashion designer Leena Singh told AP. Ashima and Leena’s collection titled ‘reel to real’Â was replete with intriguing motifs, images of antique weave and embroideries stamped on the garments, creating a sense of timelessness. “I felt very happy after walking the ramp and I never thought that I’ll ever walk the ramp,” said Ismail.
Dreams do come true in Fashionland kids.
