For those of you who don’t know this story by now here it is. Actor Kiefer Sutherland allegedly head-butted Jack McCollough for bumping into pal Brooke Shields at an after-party at SoHo’s trendy SubMercer for the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute Ball, sending the young designer to hospital with a broken nose. McCollough’s friend Dasha Zhukova, the art-collecting girlfriend of high-profile Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich, hosted the party.But Sutherland’s behavior has made him some powerful enemies in the New York fashion community, among them Anna Wintour, the powerful Vogue editor who controls the annual Costume Institute Ball. A source at Conde Nast told StyleList.com: “Anna is furious that the Met Gala got upstaged by Kiefer doing something stupid at an after-party that wasn’t even part of her event. Now that’s all anyone is talking about, not her party. And she is so genuinely fond of Jack, she has supported him and Lazaro for years, she really feels they are part of the future of American fashion. So she’s doubly annoyed.”

A lawyer for Brooke Shields has issued a statement about the actress’ involvement in an alleged May 4 assault (http://www.usmagazine.com) between Kiefer Sutherland and fashion designer Jack McCollough. “A number of statements have been attributed to Ms. Shields in the media that are neither true nor authorized,” attorney Gerald Lefcourt tells Usmagazine.com. “These statements were obviously made by those who were not in attendance at the party and constitute their version of events. While at the party she was bumped into by Jack McCollough and Kiefer Sutherland became concerned. Kiefer has always been a gentleman in her company. Both Jack and Kiefer are friends of Ms. Shields and she regrets this unfortunate situation.” Stay tuned to this one kids.
