The Oscars were boring as ever when it comes to fashion but Gwyneth Paltrow’s Oscars 2012 red carpet look was surely the MOST coveted of the night.

The actress stepped out in a stark white Tom Ford gown with matching cape, glittering Anna Hu platinum jewels and gold Jimmy Choo “Koko” Platform Sandals. She had skin by St. Tropez done by makeup artist Leslie Lopez.

The actress made jaws drop, not only because of how stunning she looked but also because of the exclusivity of Tom Ford’s Fall 2012 collection.

According to the New York Times, the designer was not even scheduled to show at London Fashion Week. He revealed his collection via private appointments and those lucky enough to catch a glimpse did not even so much as tweet a pic.

Ford lamented to The Telegraph about the current state of red carpet fashion. “No one wants to take any risks. It’s all about a strapless dress, a fishtail hem, some borrowed and pretty hair. And who can blame them with the fashion police on the prowl?” he said.  Gwyneth Paltrow was the talk of the town and the toast of the Oscars on Sunday night. If you look up best dressed in the dictionary you will see this picture of Gwyneth Paltrow. Her white Tom Ford gown with a built in cape is everything! Tom Ford’s Fall 2012 might have been available for the likes of Gwyneth Paltrow, but it is currently unavailable for mere mortals.
